Hey there orphans!

Merry Christmas from Torch and I! We hope you all got what you wanted for christmas. Also, for those whose parents are divorced, i have one thing to say: TWO CHRISTMASES. :)

But in all seriousness have a good night with your friends and family and be safe. We are starting to get to work on some new stuff and we’re hoping to get a demo started as soon as we find an affordable means of recording.

Much love from DPD,
Lady Luck

Any advice from torch about playing bar chords?
Anonymous

Well, to be honest, bar chords suck no matter what so i avoid them like the plague. But if i have any advice about playing them, I’d have to say just work on keeping the bar finger tight down on the strings more than the other fingers on the individual strings. Its all in building up muscle memory.

ORPHANS!

sorry we’ve been gone! but rest assured, I am working on a new song (kinda) and Lady Luck has written a keyboard part for “marionette” :D things are still moving with DPD :p LET THE WRITING COMMENCE!

this is for Lady Luck, did you have any professional vocal training or did you just teach yourself to sing like that?? :)

1. That’s very sweet of you, first of all, thank you!. B. (I like to mix up my bulletpoints) I have had really no professional training. I was in choir for about 2 years and have always been a fan of musical theatre. Phantom of the Opera actually taught me how to sing. I saw it when I was 4 in Toronto. Little known fact, I sing opera as well. :3. Been practicing ever since. It helps to listen and try to imitate to every singer you ever like. Ever. XD Have a good day and thanks again, anon!

DEAR CHECKEREDFOOL

Impressive.  I know i’m usually all like “Wow!” and “Great job!” enthusiastic like.  Trust me, i’m actually more impressed then that.  I’m listening to the newest for the third time on another tab.  I’m just…sobered…but in a good way.  Just been going through a really long rough spot in my love life right now.  This song describes exactly what i feel like in those moments when i basically give up…the only reason i haven’t given up completely is because they all leave.  Every last one.  They all have hurt the one i love so much..a love that i didn’t choose…that just happened.  I leave and that’s just more damage done in my eyes.  Anyway, i’m working through it.  All nice cheerful stuff, but i’ll save you more ranting.

Torch:  the lyrics, the music, and most of all, what Lady filmed of your face said it all.  Bravo. This also being the first time i’ve heard you sing lead, i gotta say that you sing beautifully :)  (don’t worry, Lady impressed me a long time ago, you’re both great vocalists, and great together).  With that said, keep it up guys.

I’m quite literally speechless. thank you SO much…all I’ve ever wanted to do was inspire, connect and save people through our music, and it seems like we’ve done that in connecting with you. “Marrionette” took a very long time to write (and obviously is still in the making) because it is so deeply connected with my past and what I’ve been through, but in writing this song, its given me an outlet and helped me let go, and that’s what I want anyone who hears it to experience. Also, thank you for the compliment on my voice, I was really nervous when we recorded that :p and I’m really sorry about your current love-life predicament. again, thank you so so much.

Hello. This is your friend, Tyler. I still don't have an account though. I just listened to your newest video, and I love it! I can relate to what you're saying. This leads me to wondering, though. You most likely already have an idea about the vocal harmonies and a keyboard part, if I presume correctly. My question, though, is whether or not you ever give thought to having a bass and/or drum set part in your music?

thank you :) and yeah, we have given it some though and infact we did have a bassist and drummer at one point but they were very unreliable and flakey so we decided to just have a two woman show.

This is our new song! Rather, a slightly unfinished, acoustic, new song. Don’t let that keep you from listening and showing your friends! Torch sings and plays solo on our new song that she poured her very heart into. Enjoy!
